1. Fitness guidance—not medical care

CalFam provides general fitness, activity, and educational guidance. It is not a medical provider, registered dietitian, physical therapist, or emergency service. Calorie estimates, form analysis, AI responses, and recommendations may be incomplete or inaccurate and are not diagnoses or guarantees of results.

Consult a qualified professional before beginning or changing an exercise or nutrition program, particularly if you are pregnant, injured, have a medical condition, take medication, or have concerns about exercise. Stop immediately and seek appropriate help if you feel pain, faintness, chest discomfort, or unusual symptoms.

2. Safe use

You are responsible for choosing appropriate exercises, weights, equipment, surroundings, and supervision. Inspect equipment, maintain safe space, and do not rely on a phone screen or camera feedback when doing so could create a hazard.

3. Accounts and eligibility

Provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and notify us if you suspect unauthorized access. You must be legally able to agree to these terms. Minors may use CalFam only with permission and appropriate supervision from a parent or legal guardian.

4. AI and automated estimates

AI coach messages and automated recommendations are generated from the context available to CalFam. They can make mistakes. Exercise form review depends on camera angle, lighting, clothing, visibility, mobility, body proportions, and device performance. Apple Health and calorie values are estimates and may differ from actual energy expenditure.

5. Acceptable use

Do not misuse CalFam, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with the service, upload unlawful or harmful content, reverse engineer protected portions of the service except where law permits, or use the app to harm another person.

6. CalFam content and your content

CalFam’s software, branding, visual design, workout presentation, and original content are owned by CalFam or its licensors. You retain ownership of information you submit. You allow CalFam to process that information only as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the service as described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Availability, changes, and beta features

CalFam is evolving and may include beta functionality. Features may change, experience interruptions, or be removed. We may update the app and these terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated terms where permitted by law.

8. Ending use and deleting your account

You may stop using CalFam at any time and can initiate account deletion inside the app. We may suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or comply with law.

9. Disclaimers and limitation

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CalFam is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CalFam is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits rights or liabilities that cannot legally be limited.
